Our Curriculum

We wish to inspire awe and wonder in every child by following the curiosity approach.

Using a range of natural resources that the children can explore, we will encourage their natural inquisitiveness and problem solving skills.

Learning will be mostly child led, ensuring the children will be at the centre of everything. We will make the children feel safe and secure by having a welcoming and caring environment with good communication skills promoted throughout.

Being community focused ensures we are inclusive of everyone and promote British Values by respecting each other's beliefs and cultures.

By following the E.Y.F.S. in everything we do, we can ensure children have the most rewarding experience in our setting, encouraging play to prepare them for moving on to school and giving them the best start to life.

Our experienced and fully qualified practitioners ensure that a wide and exciting range of activities are made available to the children in order to stimulate, whilst being carefully planned to comply with the requirements of the National Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage.

Children are admitted to Playgroup on a non-discriminatory basis and we seek to promote equal opportunities for all.

We acknowledge and value each child’s individual needs.

We realise that parents and carers are the childs first contact for development.

The principles which guide our work are grouped into four themes:

A Unique Child - Development, inclusion, safety, health, well being.

Positive Relationships - respect, partnership with parents/carers, supporting learning, role of the key person.

Enabling Environments - observation, assessment, planning, support for every child, the learning environment, transitions, continuity, multi agency working.

Learning and Development - children develop and learn in different ways and rates, all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
