Our aims and Ofsted
The principal aims of St. Gabriel's Playgroup are:
- To provide a safe and secure environment
- For children to enjoy coming to Playgroup
- To value children as individuals
- To promote a stimulating environment with activities and learning
opportunities that promote - through play - development in the following
six Early Learning Goals, as required by OFSTED:
1) Personal, social and emotional development
2) Communication, language and literacy
3) Mathematics
4) Knowledge and understanding of the world
5) Physical development
6) Creative development
Our Playgroup was inspected by OFSTED on 13/07/2004 and received a rating of very good in all areas.
We are a member of the Playgroup Network, EYDPC, Southdowns Branch of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and a registered charity (No. 1036707).
All profits, if any are invested back into the Playgroup. We are registered with OFSTED Early Years and are inspected by a Day Care Inspector from the Department. We are registered to accpet the Nursery Education Grant, which covers the cost of Playgroup sessions for children who are eligible.
