Our aims and Ofsted
Children are admitted to Playgroup on a non-discriminatory basis and we seek to promote equal opportunities for all. We acknowledge and value each child’s individual needs. This will give our children the self-confidence to move onto the next stage in their development.
The principal aims of St. Gabriel's Playgroup are:
•To provide a safe and secure environment.
•For children to enjoy coming to Playgroup.
•To value children as individuals.
•To provide a stimulating environment with activities and learning opportunities that promote, through play, development in the following six Early Learning Goals, as required by OFSTED:
1) Personal, social and emotional development
2) Communication, language and literacy
3) Problem Solving, reasoning and numeracy
4) Knowledge and understanding of the world
5) Physical development
6) Creative development
Our Playgroup was last inspected by OFSTED on 07/12/2007 and received a rating of good for the quality and standards of the nursery education we provide. For a full report visit www.ofsted.gov.uk.
We are a member of the Playgroup Network, EYDPC, Southdowns Branch of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and a registered charity (No. 1036707). Our Registered Charity No. is 1036707.
All profits, if any are invested back into the Playgroup. We are registered with OFSTED Early Years and are inspected by a Day Care Inspector from the Department. We are registered to accpet the Nursery Education Grant, which covers the cost of Playgroup sessions for children who are eligible.
