Our aims and Ofsted

Children are admitted to Playgroup on a non-discriminatory basis and we seek to promote equal opportunities for all.
We acknowledge and value each child’s individual needs.
We realise that parents and carers are the childs first contact for development.

The principles which guide our work are grouped into four themes:

A Unique Child - Development, inclusion, safety, health, well being.

Positive Relationships - respect, partnership with parents/carers, supporting learning, role of the key person.

Enabling Environments - observation, assessment, planning, support for every child, the learning environment, transitions, continuity, multi agency working.

Learning and Development - children develop and learn in different ways and rates, all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter-connected.
 1) Personal, social and emotional development
 2) Communication, language and literacy
 3) Problem Solving, reasoning and numeracy
 4) Knowledge and understanding of the world
 5) Physical development
 6) Creative development

  Our Playgroup was last inspected by OFSTED on
  12/09/11 and received a
  rating of GOOD for our quality of provision.

  All profits, if any, are invested back into the Playgroup.
  We are registered with OFSTED Early Years and are
  inspected by a Day Care Inspector from the Department.
  We are registered to accept the WSCC Nursery Education
  Grant,'Free Entitlement', which covers the cost of up to 15
  hours a week for children who are eligible.
